The website chat on a business's own site

When a business adds the Alpaca chat button to its website, the button stores one random visitor number (alpaca_visitor) in that visitor's browser storage. It lets a visitor close the chat and come back to the same conversation. It is not a cookie, holds nothing about who the visitor is, and isn't used for tracking or ads. Businesses that add the chat should mention it in their own privacy policy.

Turning cookies off

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. If you block alpaca_session or alpaca_pre, you won't be able to sign in.
